Did a reset and APPS are gone
« on: December 26, 2013, 09:03:30 AM »
All day yesterday, I was having issue with Parental Registration.  After hours of frustration, I attempted a reset to see if that would fix the problems and now I messed it up.  I found where to reload the APPS which is now back into it's Systems folder/ APK Folder.  When plugging in the USB, I Do NOT get the option , Turn on USB Storage. This is where I'm stuck.  Can you please or some help in this matter on how to get those Pre Loaded games back?   Thanks for your time.

David

I recently contacted Tabeo support about this very same problem.
If anyone is still looking for a solution or will need it in the future here is what I was told:

1 ) Go to:  http://tabeo.supporttechs.com/
2 ) Download the system.zip file (be aware that it is over 700 MB)-December 26 **This will take some time to download.
3 ) Once it is finished downloading, unzip the file.  It should give you a system folder.
4 ) Connect your Tabeo to your PC with the USB cable.
5 ) On the "USB Mass Storage" screen that appears, click "Turn on USB storage".  The device should now appear in My Computer
6 ) Double-click to open the device in a new window.
7 ) Copy and paste the system folder (taken from system.zip) into the Tabeo storage (ie: the root of the device). So now, alongside of folders like Android, Download, Video, Music, and many others, you should see a system folder.
8 ) Open Settings -> About Tablet -> Click "start wizard"
9 ) Run through the Startup Wizard and when it asks about installing 3rd party applications, select the option to have them installed.

The wizard should automatically detect the system folder and restore all the starter apps, including the Tabeo App's and Parental Controls.

Hope this helps!

Seemed like a promising solution, but the download disconnected midstream and now the tabeosupportechs.com website is down. This continues to be my worst first experience with a new product.

Okay guys, I'm now up and running... follow these instruction to the T and you should be fine.  I did every as said, and now were good.

To re-install the Default Applications to your unit please do the following:

1.) Download the file called RecoverApps.zip to your computer from the following website:
http://tabeo.support-tablet.com/e2-support

2.) Extract the .zip that you downloaded to your computer.  You will need to use an
extraction program such as Winzip
(http://www.winzip.com/win/en/landing/prodpagewz17.html), Winrar
(http://www.winrar.com/), or 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) to do this.

3.) Once extracted you should now have a folder called RecoverApps that if opened has a
bunch of APK files in it.  If you open it and find another RecoverApps folder in it open
the second one, that will have the APK Files.

4.) Connect your unit to your computer and open the drive on your computer so you can see
all the folders in it.  Copy the RecoverApps folder that actually contains the APK Files
into the folder on the unit called System.

5.) Once the copy is finished disconnect the unit from the computer and on the unit go to
Settings -> About Tablet -> Start Wizard.  Confirm you wish to run the Start Wizard.  Then
turn the unit off and then back on and you will be taken through the Start Wizard.  Once
completed the Default Applications will be re-installed to the unit.
